Since HAUKARI was founded, photos and videos have played an important role. Starting with the impressive photos by R. Maro, which we were able to use in our first exhibition: Escape from the ‘safe harbour’ in 1998, to the active support of – and cooperation with – Kurdish filmmakers, especially through our representative in Kurdistan-Iraq, Jamal Ibrahim (Mam Pola).
