Evaluation Report on the joint Project of HAUKARI e.V. and medica mondiale e.V.

The project ‘Improved individual and structural capacity to overcome (S)GBV (Gender Based Violence) in IDP (Internally Displaced Person) camps and host communities in the Kurdistan Region / Iraq’ was carried out as a joint project by HAUKARI e.V. and medica mondiale e.V. and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ (ÜH)). Click here for the final evaluation.

It aims to qualify, strengthen and support networks of local government and civil society structures in order to create stronger referral systems and preventive networks to support women affected by gender-based violence in IDP camps and host communities in the project regions (Duhok, Erbil and Sulaimania/Garmian provinces).

The final evaluation shows that the project was able to reach even more women affected by (S)GBV than planned, despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic and the resulting reduced cooperation with the government. Cooperation and mutual reference between civil society and state actors has improved thanks to the project.
