On the ‘International Day against Violence against Women’ on 25 November, the KHANZAD Women’s Centre took part in the 16-day UN campaign ‘Orange the World – End Violence against Women Now!’
Various formats were organised as part of the campaign days. In Kifri, KHANZAD and Haukari e.V. jointly organised a forum with the motto ‘Together towards a violence-free society’. The event included dance, an art exhibition and expert panels. Social media channels and an awareness campaign in Kalar were used to provide information about statistics on violence against women. KHANZAD also organised a conference on cybercrime together with the Directorate of Combatting Violence Against Women. Planning for joint counselling services in the coming year began with the Family Counsultion Centre. There were also seminars for journalists, social workers and police officers, as well as in refugee camps and at schools.
This year, the series of events covered the topics of cybercrime, sexualised violence against children, premarital counselling, self-protection strategies, suicidal tendencies and dealing with the topic of violence against women in the professional context of journalists, police officers and social workers.
